About Us

CASARA NWT joined CASARA National in 1988, 2 years after the formation of CASARA National was formed, to provide search assistance in the north. Today, we have 80+ Members in NWT. We provide search services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our searches are either tasked by the JRCC (Joint Rescue Coordination Center) or the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police).

In the north, flying conditions and landscape terrains can be very different than our neighboring provinces to the south. Across the NWT we annually fly over 100 hours for SAR or training purposes. We volunteer over 3000 hours a year to keep our people ready to respoond. We have members in Hay River, Inuvik, Norman Wells, and Yellowknife. (See Here: https://nt.casara.ca/en/zones)
